Guide Review - Book Review - Bead Crochet Snakes

I wasn't aware of the fascinating history of European bead crochet snakes until I looked through this book.

What an interesting book, with many full color photos of lovely snake designs, all made with bead crochet. In addition to styles meant as table decorations, there are examples of necklaces and bracelets as beautiful snakeskin designs.

One of her goals with this book is to provide answers to some common questions about bead crochet snakes. She covers many of the fascinating details about the history of snake folklore and of European bead crochet snakes.

Adele includes five of her own patterns for beaded snake necklaces and bracelets, suitable for bead crocheters who are at an intermediate or advanced level. Adele says that "once you try a bead crochet snake, you may find yourself hooked on them". She hopes that crocheting bead snakes from some of her patterns will inspire you to come up with your own designs, to continue the tradition.

Adele has also included diagrams for learning the basics of bead single crochet (both right-handed and left-handed). Her patterns have written instruction details, as well as full color bead graphs for the color patterning.

At her web site, beadcrochetsnakes.com, you can view photos of a few of her bracelet patterns that she has included in the book.
